lighttpd installed but nor sure how to configure player

Postby adventube » Fri Nov 12, 2010 4:29 pm

hello,

I installed lighttpd on my server.
i managed to configure it to stream flv files (http://www.adventube.ro/video/608/Ul...talie-1-din-3), but i'm not sure how to stream mp4 (http://www.adventube.ro/video/1471/Conflictul-cosmic) files too...

in lighttpd.conf i configured mod_flv_streaing and mod_h264_streaming like this: http://forums.clip-share.com/78788-post24.html

here is a test for mp4 files
PHP Code:
wget -S -O video.mp4 "http://stream.adventube.ro/flvideo/2201 .flv" --22:22:42-- http://stream.adventube.ro/flvideo/2201.flv

=> `video.mp4'

Resolving stream.adventube.ro... 86.127.71.225 Connecting to stream.adventube.ro|86.127.71.225|:80... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response...

HTTP/1.0 200 OK X-Mod-H264-Streaming: version=2.2.9 Content-Type: video/mp4 ETag: "25262032" Last-Modified: Mon, 08 Nov 2010 21:05:35 GMT Content-Length: 8835712 Connection: keep-alive Date: Thu, 11 Nov 2010 20:35:00 GMT Server: lighttpd

Length: 8,835,712 (8.4M) [video/mp4]

22:22:47 (2.00 MB/s) - `video.mp4' saved [8835712/8835712]
but the in player is not working.

any clue?

You must have something wrong with lighttpd and/or x264 streaming mod.

You can always check your video file using Wizard on Nuevolab's main page.
Just type your video URL, roll over for more option and type "lighttpd" for streamer option.
Your video 1471.flv will start fine, but won't play when you change position.
You can also check your video under JWPLayer wizrd: http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/jw ... tup-wizard
Again you need to enter your video url and type "http" for 'provider' option.
You will see it is same as using Nuevoplayer.

But when tested same video but uploaded to our servers it streams fine using both: Nuevoplayer and JWPlayer and lighttpd streamer.

This shows it's your lighttpd case, bad configuration settings or x264-streaming mod issue.

Rather not mod_secdownload as it is not used in your video URL. Video URL is accessible public.

Man you mess up things.
Nothing strange that you can scrub with mp4 files as this is progressive streaming now.
Same wil be with flv videos.
But of course you are not able to click on part of video that was not downloaded yet. Both mp4 and FLV.
There's no sense for further discussion.
It is clear that lighttpd streaming mod for h264 is not installed correctly or not configured correctly.
It's not a matter of the player, but your lighttpd setup.
